Almost Home 2022

We’re on our last segment of 2022 and we’ve been doing our best to enjoy the moment while we anticipate moving to our new home (more on that later).

Since Thanksgiving, we’ve had ups and downs: attempting to enjoy the beaches of Anna Maria Island while being sick for the entire time (not COVID, just good-old cold/flu), returning the new and totally unused Florida tags (for my car and our t@g trailer that we lost in the hurricane), trying to figure out how and where to sell my husband’s car (our only car now) — since it doesn’t make sense to take it to our new home. Oh yes, we also closed on our new house a few days ago!!

So this post is about sharing some memories, some which I may attempt to paint or draw one day….

Beautiful Anna Maria Island

At this point, this is my favorite place in Florida to visit..the architecture, the people…so nice!

Blossoms Along the Way

Florida is just beautiful in December and not yet crowded with snowbirds…but I also found some beautiful blossoms along the way despite the frozen temperatures—Mississippi camellia and Texas roses.

Last roadtrip — heading back west

Avoiding a major winter storm in the north and west, we trekked an extra 600 miles and stayed south in order to get the car safely back to the Seattle area before snow hit. The trip was long and mostly uneventful and we enjoyed seeing the busy boarder in El Paso, decorated saguaro cactus in Arizona, the magistic Mount Shasta in California, and frozen fog in Southern Oregon. Glad we beat the snow and glad this trip is over…but I’m SO glad I got to see some of my favorite places one last time…at least for now…I do love the wild west!

We’re now onto packing our little storage bin (in Redmond WA) into the POD before we can chill out and enjoy the Christmas holiday with family and friends…xo
