As part of my “birthday month” I enjoyed a zen and mystical morning at the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary today. A quick drive from my house (and the town of Kona), what a great way to spend some time. I’m always inspired by family-owned businesses–our tour guide was the grandson of the founder, who shared ecological information as well as anecdotal family tales.

Such a diverse island!
