Commission project. By request, the idea was to paint a single ruby gemstone to signify their 40th anniversary. I had no idea that it’d be fun to paint a ruby, or any gemstone, for that matter. I then branched off and included some beautiful gladiolus and then—what the heck, mocked up a 2016 Airstream trailer.

I have three more months to finish the piece. We’ll see how these ideas evolve.
